Prince Nico Geolaga: Nurturing Environmental Advocates with SACCA Alabel

  Driven by his passion to promote his degree program, Prince Nico Geolaga founded the environmental group Sustainability Advocates for Climate Change Action (SACCA), believing that environmental action is a collective responsibility. Geolaga, a second-year BS Environmental Planning student at Notre Dame of Dadiangas University, began SACCA in 2024 with a simple idea to highlight his program. What started as a casual initiative soon became an organization dedicated to environmental advocacy. "Environmental action is not exclusive to environmental groups," Geolaga emphasizes. Drawing inspiration from Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 13: Climate Action, he partnered with like-minded friends to formally establish SACCA in Alabel, Sarangani Province.
